Mix this mask concentrate with warm water to use as a hydrating cleanser, or keep on for 20 min as a toning and very moisturizing mask.

Desert plants and underwater plants understand hydration from opposite ends of the spectrum. These two, seemingly opposite, plant families have mucilage in common. In seaweeds, mucilage is excreted to create a slippery barrier to protect the plant from corrosive saltwater. In Aloe, the mucilage helps hold on to every drip of precious moisture. When combined, the result is deep hydration to the skin, scalp and hair.

For the face, mix ½ -1 tsp of the mask with a few tbsp of hot water and massage into your face. Mermaid Mask should have a thin consistency. Leave on for at least 20 min. For the hair, mix 1-2 tbsp mask (depending on your lock landscape) with ½ cup hot water and stir well, leave on for at least 20 min, then rinse. Store the remaining mask in the fridge and it will last one week. The dry mask is shelf stable.
